AnyTone DMR Handheld Comparison Guide

AnyTone DMR Handheld Comparison Guide

The most popular radios within DMR are the AnyTone HTs. The three favorites among our users are the AnyTone 878UV, 878 Plus, and the 878UVII Plus. However, each of these handhelds has specific features that make them stand out from each other. So today, we’d like to take a deeper look into what makes these three radios so unique and how they make your time on DMR all the better.

AnyTone 878UV

One of our most popular radios we offer today at BridgeCom is the AnyTone 878UV. This radio along with it’s similar versions is designed to maximize your enjoyment of the handheld. You can ease into using this radio with it’s dual-mode, dual-band function, making it simple for you to use on existing analog systems, as well as DMR systems. Each radio has a powerful speaker to ensure all your transmissions are clear and easy to hear. The display is completely customizable to your wants and needs, allowing you to personalize it and make it unique to you. This radio, as well as it’s more advanced versions, can store 200,000 contacts, 10,000 talkgroups, and 4,000 channels. There won’t be a day this radio is quiet and the 878’s power transmits up to 7 watts to make sure you have no problem making a contact. To add to all this, all of our anytone radios include our exclusive university course. It includes everything you need to know to become an authority on your radio.

AnyTone 878UV Plus

The AnyTone 878UV Plus is the DMR HT we’re sure most of you are familiar with. This radio is identical in every way to the AnyTone 878UV, but with a great added feature, Bluetooth. With your 878 Plus, you can have the freedom of operating hands free with this DMR radio’s PTT button. This may seem like a small bonus, but you’d be surprised how useful it is. If you’re ever driving you, you no longer have to worry about taking your hand off the wheel to grab your radio. You can simply press your PTT button and comfortably make a QSO without distracting you from driving. Best of all, if you have other passengers with you: you can connect a bluetooth headset for quieter transmission.

AnyTone 878UVII Plus

The final radio on our list is the AnyTone 878UVII Plus. This is the newest DMR handheld from AnyTone, and with it comes three key new features. Firstly, this radio will arrive to you with the memory capacity to store 500,000 contacts. With the DMR ID’s contact list nearly eclipsing 200,000; this storage capacity is a must.

Have you ever wanted to go back and listen to your transmits? Your UVII Plus will come with the ability to record 14 hours of transmissions. It doesn’t matter if you’re listening or making the call yourself, you can record all activity that comes through your radio. You can even share your QSO’s with contacts in your radio.

The biggest addition to this radio is APRS receive. This AnyTone radio will finally allow you to use APRS the way it was meant to be. You can now send and receive callsigns, coordinates, directions, and much more. So if you’re backpacking among the Rockies or traveling across the country, you can send and receive all the real-time data you’d like.
